We required a web header logo and matching social profile icon that encompassed our brand ethos. It needed to be monotone and to work in both black and white.
Inspired by vintage jazz and alcohol posters, with a nod to grass-roots graphics like letter-press, our logo needed to sit comfortably with this visual identity, at the same time feel timeless and not overly retro.
We explored three very different routes, a serif monogram style, block san-serif letterpress style, and a fine font Parisian deco style.
The final logo is a lock-up of the four letters R O T H that make up a silhouette of a rabbits face. With this working as a symbol that can be applied to social profiles, it was important that we also design a web header friendly wordmark that was recognisably the same branding, using the same typeface.
